Our Story
A small studio, two ideas we believe in
We've spent over a decade building software that gives teachers, students and musicians feedback the moment they need it — not a week later.
How we got here
WebEd Development started in Brisbane building CloudLessons, a learning and assessment platform for schools, at a time when most classroom software still meant installing something on a server and hoping IT staff had time to look after it. We built CloudLessons the opposite way: nothing to install, a private environment per school, and results teachers could see the moment a student finished a quiz.
Years of working with music teachers on CloudLessons' music learning track led to the same question from students, over and over: practice is boring when nobody's watching. That question became Pitch Race, a racing game where your instrument — not a controller — is what moves the car.
We're now building on that with Note Racing Trumpet, our next music-learning title. Two products, one studio, one idea: make the feedback loop instant, and people improve faster.
What we're not
We're not a large edtech vendor with a sales floor, and we're not a game studio chasing every trend in music games. We're a small, Brisbane-based team that maintains and supports what we ship — which is why schools who signed up years ago are often still on CloudLessons today.
Where we're based
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. We work with schools locally and remotely across the country.
What we build
Learning and assessment software (CloudLessons) and music-learning games (Pitch Race, Note Racing).
Who we work with
Schools, classroom teachers, instrumental teachers, and independent musicians practising on their own.
